Not having any possible distractions is also a big plus when you are trying to fall asleep. TV, the computer or the radio are all distractions and should not be present in the room where you sleep. Find another room except this one which should only have a bed and maybe a place for your clothes. If you will have a TV then you will be tempted to turn it on and you will lose precious sleep time because of it.
